Online?
You send us your mixes (no pre-mastering or fades please) as stereo wave files via any public file server.
We return the mastered files to you the same way, usually within days.
Contact us for alternative formats, some of which may induce costs.
Manual?
Totally. No presets. No algorithms.
We do all the audio mastering by ear.
This service is human-to-human. No AI.
Analogue?
Apart from the file conversions (or special requests) our mastering process is all analogue. No plugins.
Famous mastering guru Bernie Grundman talks about the "digital disease" that makes everything sound similar. We don't suffer from it.
Audio mastering?
That’s the fine art of making your mixes really shine.
We adjust warmth, width and timbre balance - sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically.
Just let us know in advance if you intend to distribute your audio on vinyl, streaming or CD.
Millhouse?
The studio is housed in an old, former watermill.
Our equipment is however fully modern or premium vintage.
But our most important assets are our experienced ears.
And it’s really free …?
Yep. But if you’re not happy after our second attempt with each mix, we will politely ask you to look elsewhere for your mastering needs. Let’s not go crazy.
Furthermore, time is not unlimited so we reserve the right to decline requests.
Usage?
You hold the same legal rights to use the mastered files as to the files you sent us.
However — the mastered files may not be redistributed claiming that anyone other than Millhouse Mastering (as of this website) accomplished the mastering.
Donations?
Yes, that's how we finance this. Pay what you want to pay! It's all up to you.

“Mastered at Millhouse Mastering” will do just fine. Add our logo if possible.
